Hello everyone, we have returned from vacation and I have already started back into work at the office.
Although I do say that it was a little difficult getting back into the “swing of things,” just because of our vacation time, many of you have asked about pictures and, while I did post some up on our Instagram site (https://www.instagram.com/turnitaround.blog/) about half way through the vacation, I thought I would just put out a blog-cast with them and cover more ground.
I bought Shannon a new shirt that she could take on vacation with us.My last day at work before vacation – they brought in ice cream for breakfast …mmmm! My friends from Eastern Star took me out for breakfast for my Birthday before we left town.Shannon has a “thing” for taking pictures of the front doors to our rooms on EVERY trip. This is King. He “escorts” us on every trip … there are SO MANY of these lizards we just assume he is everyone.Entry to the “lower beach” from the “upper.” If you notice the four sticks coming out of the sand … it’s a turtle’s nest and that is how they mark them.I have officially dipped my toes in the oceans of both sides of the US.A shot of our resort from the beach. It’s mostly hidden by trees and foliage because that way when the baby turtles hatch they know to go towards the ocean.A closer look at the entry level to the lower beach, they do that so that the turtles can’t climb up to the upper deck and nest in the ares where the humans reside. There is nothing like the sound of the surf.Every morning the Disney staff put out chairs and tables and arrange them in a certain way … and then every night they put them away. Our Mighty Chariot for the voyage, a 2022 Renegade. It was fun to drive but I wouldn’t want to own one, too tight on the turning and too bumpy a ride. This is “Noble” he watched the Jeep while we were off playing on the beach.… I just can’t seem to get away from that shade of green, not even when I am on vacation. Our favorite drink, a “Banana Cabana,” Banana Rum, Coconut Rum, Pineapple Juice, Orange Juice and some Grenadine. OMG these go down FAST!!The drink goes good in the evening and in the morning! The view from our patio.Anybody for a Disney Pin?The sign on the pier right before you go ONTO the beach.“Can you see anything in the bottom?”Hey! Look who found the Pandora station at the resort??THIS is the way to celebrate your Birthday … Disney Style!Rum Tasting drink list to mix our own drink.OK, so we might of had a COUPLE of drinks.Rum Tasting … in a martini glass. This is what a marked turtles nest looks like up close.During the course of our trip we met up with my mentor and friend, Kenndrick and his wife Jasmine. We had a great time in this tiny restaurant, Old Harry’s Place, which we might have been “a little too loud” in.This is the menu from the Resort Restaurant.Wedge SaladSurf and TurfRelaxing by the ocean.Did I mention I love these drinks?!This is my “girlfriend” ready to go out for dinner. Our putt-putt score card, I won, she lost …she is still disputing!Tick-Tock the crocodile. We did a Tie-Dye Class.
To wrap up, THANK YOU to all who celebrated with us and followed on social media. To those that I was able to be with, THANK YOU for thinking of me. For this month all the cartoons that I am posting will be from our trip, “Vacation Edition.” Be sure to check them out every Tuesday and Friday starting at 7:00am CST.
I have said before that getting away for a while is always worth it but now I think that’s not all of it. It is mandatory, for your mental and physical wellness, for your perspective and for the relationships that you cherish most. Take those fresh ideas …
… and Go Turn It Around for you as well as somebody else.
